Today Dr. Michael Martin, Vice President -Fuel Cells Technology for EMTEC, presented PET a Department of Energy award on fuel cell manufacturing titled Reel to Reel Processing for Continuous Thermal Pressing of the Catalyst Film onto a Membrane for the High Volume, Low Cost Commericialization of Hydrogen Generating Membrane Electrode Assembly.

This project is intended to resolve manufacturing issues in laminating the two gas diffusion electrodes to the membrane using a continuous thermal-pressing roller system.

“I appreciate the DOE’s new focus on moving fuel cell manufacturing to the next level. With the support of the DOE, EMTEC, and the Ohio Department of Development, I believe our country is well on its way to eliminating its dependence on foreign oil and moving us to a cleaner environment for our children”, said Thomas Willis.
